C\C (Cinderella\Complex) was High-King’s 1st single. It was released June 11, 2008. It sold 27,805 copies in it’s first week, 31,693 overall and reached #6 on the charts.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name of this song but after hearing it, I was beyond relieved and excited. C\C (Cinderella\Complex) can, in my books, be considered one of the best H!P songs released ever. It’s very synth heavy and features small rapping sections from Maimi and Saki. Ai and Reina get the main vocals while each member gets solo lines here and there. The chorus is absolute perfection with it’s heavy synth, incredible vocals and high octane, awesome sounding instrumentals. This is immediately followed by a mixture of Ai’s, Reina’s and Yuuka’s “Nananananana”’s and the rapping sections. An incredibly addictive, catchy, unforgettable song.
Jeez, even the b-side is good and this is H!P we’re talking about! Ai starts it off accompanied by very minimal instruments, all being some form of synth. As Reina gets her line, we can tell this is gonna be a techno/dance based song. As soon as the instruments kick is together, we get a heavy layered techno song. The girl’s voices aren’t layered or anything, so it still manages to maintain a pop sound, but just barely. The three other members also get lots of lines throughout the song, mostly Yuuka, who gets her own chorus solo. This is a very high quality b-side(again, for H!P) and should be given a listen.
The C\C (Cinderella\Complex) brought to us something we don’t head everyday form H!P. An exceptional a-side and a techno based(and good for that case) b-side. I really recommend you give the a-side a listen as I’m sure your bound to enjoy it, even if your not a fan of H!P, it’s strong synth and catchy-ness will pull you in.
