There’s something about Otome no Inori that I just love. It could be that brilliant opening piano, or just the elegant and simple arrangement the song has. Erina learned from her last single and doesn’t try to make her voice sound any better than it’s supposed to, thus her vocals are gentle and sweet. I think this may be my favorite Mano song simple due to how well laid-out and basic it is.
With Mizuiro Omoi, Erina stays in her comfort zone but delivers a slightly more carefree attitude in the instrumental, with her vocals being more of a secondary element, thus taking advantage of her less than spectacular vocal skills. I really like how gentle this song is and how perfect it is for easy listening. Definitely a strong b-side.
For her debut, Tsunku decided to take a safer approach to Mano’s music, one that went well with her vocals. He made a very good choice as both songs are very strong and while not ground-breaking are very fresh additions to H!P.
